Amazingly, people are still viewing this the blog even after one month of no post from me haha. Its been like ages since I last posted on The Ladies Moment blog. I enjoy writing a lot as it is a own unique way of expressing my thoughts on issues and sharing these thoughts of mine with the rest of the world, just like some talented people do through music and art. I just had to go back to the plan I had before I started this blog because I wasn't satisfied with the results I was getting. Now this does not mean that I am not thankful for having everyone here. I just wanted the blog to look like the picture I had in my head when I started it. I had to do some re-arrangements of plans to enable me get a clearer focus on the vision. So for one month I have been asking myself these questions. Why did I start the ladies moment? What were my goals when I started? How did I intend to achieve these goals? Am I achieving these goals already? The answer to these questions you will find below.

Dear Hurting Heart By Joy Oforka

                                              Credit: Linda Ikeji's Blog

Dear Hurting Heart,
I write to your heart - bruised, scarred or broken - knowing that it is its heavy weight that has so heavily clouded your eyes. I know I have no perfect knowledge of how you feel; your pain is peculiar to you. I only hope that I find the right words to soothe you where my hugs can't. I'm sorry life happened to you the way it did. I'm sorry you are going through so much pain. I'm sorry I really can't do more than say how sorry I am.
I'm sorry if my sorry causes you to cry even more. I'm sorry I'm still talking though you wouldn't mind if I shut up.

Feeling Messed Up Is Part Of The Amazing Self Discovery Journey

That is why it is called self discovery—You get to try things. Some go well. Some don't.

We are born babies. Nobody came into this world all grown up. We came with nothing. We spent our childhood learning, mimicking and observing the people around us and the society we found ourselves in. In my late childhood, I had already developed some skills and habits that helped me blend into my society—the idea is that the adults in the community around us help us to reach this point of adaptation. All we knew at that point was what we were taught, what we saw people around

"The secret to success is pressing on —consistently working  toward the goal that is set before you. Your calling, requires dedication, determination, and an intense desire to accomplish it.  Close your ears to detractors, forget past failures, and press on to accomplish what God has given you."

Don't Mark Down Your Price Tag!

"Integrity is a long, slippery slope but we must not fall out of it else we might end up heart broken, fired, hated or filled with regrets."

A meaningful life is not about being rich, highly educated or being perfect. It's about being real, humble, sticking to your core values and touching the lives of others. I always try to remind myself that there is more to life than money, one thing we shouldn't lose for pleasure is integrity.  Yes we might enjoy the fame, money and captivating audience for a while but we will definitely

The Secret Every Woman Should Know About Herself

"Of course, men like it when they see us in those beautiful outfits looking sexy and hot, they like it when you have your make up on and you look perfect but these things won't get them to bow to your feet. They will only bow to a woman who loves and cherish herself. "

Every woman wants to be young, happy and graceful but the secret to being all that is not in Botox and plenty make up. The secret to being young, happy and graceful is in you. The secret is treating your own person well and making your 'self' content. Everyone talks about self love but only few people truly practice self love.

What Time and Presence Means To Both Gender.

The research of 2000 men found that men switch off after an average of six minutes when chatting with a partner, but stay tuned for 15 minutes when talking football or sex lives with mates. I tell you, this isn't good news but I have always known that men are bad listeners even before that research was conducted lol.

Men like facts, woman like to give details.

When a woman keeps talking and the man keeps giving really short answers for a reply, after a short silence, you will hear her say 'where are you? I am talking to you about something really important

This is my first time and I must say job hunting is not easy at all. If you guys remember I have been job hunting for 8 weeks now. On Monday morning I decided to go to some companies myself.I heard they don't do that in this country. I believed when they see me they will change there mind. First company I went to, the HR manager asked me to drop my document with any of the security men. I did and moved on to the next company. The second company was the best. I could just see myself working there. The woman was so nice to me. Anyway she said I could get a place with them but the problem is that I am a girl. Why do people constantly remind that I am a girl? I was not confused about my sex when I chose Electrical Electronics engineering . I told her I was okay with working with only guys. I am the only female in my class and the only African too. She was like okay, she get

Mom With Skin Cancer Shares Graphic Photo as a Warning Against Tanning

When Tawny Willoughby was in her teens, she used tanning beds at least four times a week because her "tans faded too fast."

She was diagnosed with skin cancer at the age of 21. Since then, she's had basal cell carcinoma five times and squamous cell carcinoma once. She visits her dermatologist every six to 12 months and "usually has a skin cancer removed at each checkup."

The mom, now 27, shared an image of her painful blisters and scars on Facebook, in an effort to encourage other people not to make the mistakes that she did.

SHUT UP AND BE GRATEFUL

The fact that you’re reading this sentence means that you are richer and more educated than 99.5% of people in human history. It means you have almost immediate access to over half of all of the information and data ever created by the human race. It means you have the ability to educate yourself on subjects people previously spent their entire lifetimes to learn.

Gratitude means thankfulness, counting your blessings, noticing simple pleasures, and acknowledging everything that you receive. It means learning to live your life as if everything were a miracle, and being aware on a continuous basis of how much you've been given. Gratitude shifts your focus from what your life lacks to the abundance that is already present.

For decades, research has tied gratefulness and appreciation to happiness. People who are happier tend to be more grateful and appreciative for what they have. But  they've also found

The Cost Of Happiness Part One

Nothing ( I mean absolutely nothing) is for free, not even your happiness. Just like everything in the life,  there is a cost attached to happiness. This Thing Called Conscience

My Laptop is having some issues and I just finished my exams last week. I am trying to explain why I have been missing in action. Gosh I have been trying to get a place to do my internship and it seems like no one, nobody wants me...I must say, that that feeling is really depressing. I have never checked my mail box as often as I have done for the past two weeks. It's like a job hunting...I wonder what the real job hunting is like. Every "we regret to inform you" letter I have received just makes me feel tired and sad. OK I am done ranting about internship and all. I am alive, hence there is hope.

Back to the topic... This thing called conscience. Have you ever done something and something just pricks you on the inside... Like an alarm goes on screaming 'that was wrong!' I have had that feeling, as a matter of fact everyone has had that feeling countless number of times.

One thing I have noticed is that as we become older we get too familiar with this alarm that awakens us and it loses it effect on us.

Conscience is a divinely implanted faculty in man, telling him what he ought to do right. Yet in a way conscience is enough, I think it just get less effective as we go through life.  It becomes dead and too silent that we hardly here it speak.

The things we choose as we mature affects our conscience; our beliefs, our religion and our moral identity and the society.  These things I have mentioned affects greatly the actions of a person. Countless times I have decided to do something bad but my conscience won't let me because my religion forbids it or my personal beliefs forbids it, I know it is wrong hence I could just desist from carrying out that action and feel at peace or ignore my conscience, carry out the action and suffer the guilt for a while.

Conscience is that something that speaks inside us, something that tries to stop us from doing what is wrong or might cause us harm, something that gets louder or more silent as we grow. It is this thing called conscience. It could be silent but one thing I know is that when it is alive it always tells the TRUTH.

Bobbi Kristina Is Reportedly Awake and Off Life Support

Find how US Weekly is reporting it below .

Bobbi Kristina Brown is "awake" and has come off her life support machine, according to her dad Bobby Brown and his sister Tina Brown.

Bobbi Kristina, 22, has been in a medically induced coma for the past two and a half months, since she was discovered unresponsive in a bath tub on Jan. 31.
But now it seems like things are looking up for the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, after her dad and aunt sent out messages to fans over the weekend, saying that her condition is starting to improve.

Bobby Brown, 46, gave the first hint that his daughter was making steps towards recovery on Saturday, April 18, when he made an announcement to shocked fans at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Dallas, while on stage at a Frankie Beverly concert.
"I can say today Bobbi is awake. She's watching me," the "Every Little Step" singer told his audience in a speech that was posted to Instagram later that night.

And confirming her brother's happy announcement, Tina Brown took to Facebook on Sunday, April 19, to expand on the positive message.
"So many messages, sorry can't answer them all right now but I will get to them later.." Tina wrote. "Just allow me this time with my family,,yes, she woke up and is no longer on life support!!!!!:):)God is good!!thanks for your prayers,,still a process, but she is going to be ok:):):):)."

Bobby Brown is yet to release an official statement regarding the latest on his daughter's condition. His last comment back in February asked fans to continue to pray for Bobbi Kristina's recovery.

Let us continue to pray for her. This is real good news.

According To Science,8 Reasons To Sleep TOTALLY Naked Tonight.

Finally Science recommends it! We'll probably have to take the "less is more" on to the bed. Let me whisper this in your ear —  shredding the PJs is not a bad idea at all . We've all slept naked, at least once in our life time, it's happened to all of us — and turns out it's fine. Whatever your reason, there's a lot of reason to consider making a habit of sleeping naked!

Why You Have To Put Bitterness Behind You

Bitterness is more than just a nasty taste in the mouth. Studies suggest bitterness about our failures or actions of another, and the feelings of anger and depression that accompanies it, can damage our physical health, especially if we hang on to them over time.

Nearly everyone has been hurt by the actions or words of another and we have all made mistakes in life. Bitterness can stem from a wide range of events in one's life. It could come from a failed marriage, being a victim of abuse, being laid off or fired, or parenting a disabled child, your mother criticized your parenting skills, your colleague sabotaged a project, your partner had an affair or you are finding it hard to forgive yourself of some mistakes you made. These wounds can leave you with lasting feelings of anger, bitterness or even vengeance. But if

Why My Husband Will Always Come Before My Kids

By Amber Doty

Less than one month after my husband and I got married -- before I even mailed thank you notes for our wedding gifts -- I found myself holding a positive pregnancy test.

Eight and a half months into our marriage, while we were still getting comfortable in our roles as husband and wife, we suddenly became mom and dad. I won't say that our son was poorly planned -- we were both anxious to start our family -- but I will say that in hindsight becoming a mother in the same year that you become a wife is not for the weak.

The first year of our son's life was the most difficult of our marriage to date and it is also the year I learned a very important lesson: My husband must always come before our children.

Don't get me wrong; I love my kids and would do anything for them. But I love my husband more.

How Your Inner Circle Reflects Your Inner Mindset.

A strong community is critical for success. And by success I mean whatever you think is required to live a rich, meaningful life.

Your inner circle are the people are close to you, they are people  have the power to influence your life and your decisions.

Let's start with our personal goals. There are things we want to achieve in life. I personally want to spend more time with my family and friends, build a stronger relationship with God, become a more organized woman, finish my first degree and become a better blogger. For now, these are the things I want to achieve. Writing down our goals is not enough but, doing

Love is never enough. Here's what is enough....

In 1967, John Lennon wrote a song called, “All You Need is Love.” He also beat both of his wives, abandoned one of his children and once had a camera crew film him lying naked in his bed for an entire day. This man obviously lacked a clear and realistic understanding of love really is.

Many of us idealize love to be the solution to all our problems. We think the moment we find love, our problems vanish. Hollywood’s romantic movies and stories celebrates love as life’s ultimate goal, the final solution for all of our pain and struggle. When we overestimate love, our relationships pay the deadly price.

Do You Actually Have Personal Integrity?

It is one thing for you to say something and another thing for your actions to back up your words. I love sharing my views, without holding any bit of it back. This is because, the half truth never does the job of the whole truth which is to set us free. Today, We are going to be doing some serious check-up on our self.

Just like our body, we need to have Check-ups on our inner self, for us to find out what we are doing right, what we need to be improved in our lives and what needs to be eliminated in our lives. The thing is, when we do these check-up, we have to take out our emotions to be able to see things clearly. So please take the emotions out before you read any further.

A Woman's Satirical Take on the Challenges of Using Public Loos Goes Viral in Argentina.

For women the process of using a public toilet can be a lengthy affair. But why? People are talking (and laughing) about it in Argentina, after a woman revealed what exactly goes on behind cubicle doors in a funny Facebook post that has been shared more than 110,000 times.

It all starts, says Luciana Ochoa, with a voice in the back of your head - your mother telling you "never, ever sit on a public toilet." Depending on the state of the facilities, women basically have two options: to wipe the seat and then proceed to cover it with paper, or to use a frankly unpractical posture that Ochoa calls "the ninja position" - a sort of hovering squat which ensures no part of your

Teenager Creates Organization To Help The Underprivileged

This brought me to tears. This young woman started a snowball rolling with her caring and goodness to others that has blossomed throughout the world ,further than I'm sure, she never dreamed possible.

Rebecca Kirtman was just 16 years of age when she was killed in a tragic automobile accident, but she certainly made her mark on the world. Rebecca was a caring, loving individual who began "Becca's Closet" when she was just a freshman in high school. "Becca's Closet" is a foundation that aims to provide less-privileged high school girls with dresses and accessories for school dances.

Her parents reared her with excellent values and compassion for others. They share in her dreams that came true. It's tragic that today she is she is no more but her dream lives on.

This Little Girl's Rant About Kim Kardashian Will Make You Laugh Forever

This video got me rolling on the floor. Apparently, this little princess did not have a pleasant reaction when her dad told her who his celebrity crush is. Kim Kardashian? Hell no! she basically told her dad and the whole world that Kim Kardashian should be made illegal.

"I don't agree with my father because if I were a man I would not pick Kim Kardashian to be my celebrity crush," she says. "You wanna know why? I'll tell you why. The only reason she's famous is because of her plastic surgery." She said .

And that's just the beginning!

I'm pretty sure this little angel is either going to be an award-winning author  or a kick-ass lawyer. I would not want to go up against her in a court room because this girl will adorably shut me down.

I purely agree with her. One need not be famous for showing up their personal body parts n exposing nudity to the world. It is giving wrong messages to the young generations.
