April 14th marks the one year anniversary since the abduction of Chibok Girls. On the night of April 14th, Boko Haram gunmen snatched over 200 females from their dormitory in Chibok. The abduction of the girls sparked global outrage, with nations such as the US and China promising to help find
them but 365 days later, our girls have not been found?

Though there have been reports of sightings of the girls, but none has been found. While Boko Haram say the girls have converted to Islam and been married off. Some claim that the girls have been turned into sex slave and fighters by the militants. One witness told the BBC that she saw more than 50 of them alive three weeks ago in the north-eastern town of Gwoza.

Outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan’s failure to find the Chibok girls was a key issue in elections this month. We hope that the new president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari's government will do everything possible in their power to find the Chibok girl, just as he promised.

219 children have been selected by BBOG group to represent the girls that were kidnapped. They will lead a procession to the Ministry of Education in Abuja this morning. We pray and hope that the girls will be found and brought back to re-unite with their families.

The parents and relative of the Chibok girls have been through too much pain and agony for the past one year. I really do hope that this new government bring positive change to Nigeria just as they have promised.
