Avo-Banana Kale Smoothie.



Wow it's Wednesday already and in a jiffy, we will have weekend staring at us in the face. Mmm..we all know that there is nothing like a big jar of homemade smoothie to soothe a bruised ego. So today, I present to the lovers of smoothies, this very yummy yet so healthy smoothie. This extremely creamy smoothie is made of avocado, banana and kale.


I love to search for recipes for green smoothies because it's an excellent way to incorporate extra greens into your diet without much effort.

For this smoothie, I advice you use coconut water  as your base because it’s super hydrating and it has a very clean and subtle taste.  We will need to thicken our smoothie and make it cold too. Well ice would have been the perfect answer except for the fact that ice are usually very hard to crush in blender. Therefore, it is advisable to use one frozen fruit; I recommend frozen bananas because they just magical!

While raw kale isn’t very pleasant on its own, once you blend it with the avocado and sweet ripe bananas, it tastes really taste great!  You could also a little fresh squeezed lime juice to brighten up the flavors.

The recipe i have below serves 2, but you could get tempted to finish the entire batch all by yourself....yup, it's that refreshing. Don't forget to give it a try this week.

INGREDIENTS:
11/4 cup coconut water
2 cups kale leaves
1/2 cup avocado
1 banana, frozen
2 tsp fresh lime juice

DIRECTIONS:
Pour coconut water into blender.  Add kale and blend with coconut water until smooth. Then avocado, frozen banana and lime juice into the blender. Cover with lid and blend until smooth.  Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.
