YESSSSSS....I Got A Job!

This is my first time and I must say job hunting is not easy at all. If you guys remember I have been job hunting for 8 weeks now. On Monday morning I decided to go to some companies myself.I heard they don't do that in this country. I believed when they see me they will change there mind. First company I went to, the HR manager asked me to drop my document with any of the security men. I did and moved on to the next company. The second company was the best. I could just see myself working there. The woman was so nice to me. Anyway she said I could get a place with them but the problem is that I am a girl. Why do people constantly remind that I am a girl? I was not confused about my sex when I chose Electrical Electronics engineering . I told her I was okay with working with only guys. I am the only female in my class and the only African too. She was like okay, she get

VIDEO: Talk Of Sibling Rivalry Outside The Human Race! ( Who Pooped In the Kitchen? Guilty Dogs)

When the owner of these two pooches asks a direct question in regards to who may or may not have left an unsolicited present in the kitchen, the reaction really cracked me up. Without hesitation, Judy outs his sister Sunny (evidence that sibling rivalry does exist even outside the human world..lol).

Perhaps this was something Judy had been accused of in the past and wanted to make it crystal clear that she was not the culprit this time around. Watching Sunny get adorably thrown under the bus had me cracking up. Watch and enjoy

The I'm Too Busy, I have No Time For Myself Excuse: Can You Just Stop It?

Most of us live in the real world and don’t have access to an unlimited trust fund or bank account. We work in order to keep a roof over our head, clothes on our back and food on the table. However, working is not a valid excuse for blowing off self-care. You may have your calender overflowing with appointments and work-related responsibilities, but it is a must for

Six Easy Steps To The GLOWIEST Skin Of Your Life

Skip the Scalding Hot Shower
While a good steam session can help restore moisture, spending too much time in hot water will strip your skin of its natural oils, leaving it feeling tight and all dried out. Opt for a warm (or cool!) shower instead, and always lather up with a hydrating body wash in lieu of regular bar soap.

Drink More Water
According to the Institute of Medicine, women should drink around 9 cups of water per day (while men should drink about 13). Make a point of always having a bottle within arm's reach; that way you

"I’m a divorcee. That’s my truth. The word makes me shutter. It makes me feel like a quitter. I am. I divorced myself long before I got married. I let my insecurity rule me. SHUT UP AND BE GRATEFUL

The fact that you’re reading this sentence means that you are richer and more educated than 99.5% of people in human history. It means you have almost immediate access to over half of all of the information and data ever created by the human race. It means you have the ability to educate yourself on subjects people previously spent their entire lifetimes to learn.

Gratitude means thankfulness, counting your blessings, noticing simple pleasures, and acknowledging everything that you receive. It means learning to live your life as if everything were a miracle, and being aware on a continuous basis of how much you've been given. Gratitude shifts your focus from what your life lacks to the abundance that is already present.

For decades, research has tied gratefulness and appreciation to happiness. People who are happier tend to be more grateful and appreciative for what they have. But  they've also found

Quote Of The Week

The question for each man to settle is not what he would do if he had means, time, influence and educational advantages; the question is what he will do with the things he has. The moment a young man ceases to dream or to bemoan his lack of opportunities and resolutely looks his

The Cost Of Happiness Part One

Ever heard the phase "there is no such thing as a free lunch."

Nothing ( I mean absolutely nothing) is for free, not even your happiness. Just like everything in the life,  there is a cost attached to happiness. Sadly, in the world we live in today nobody understands this. We want the gain but we don't want the pain, we want the success but we don't want the hard work, we want the benefits of happiness but we unwilling to pay the cost. The unwillingness to pay

This Thing Called Conscience

My Laptop is having some issues and I just finished my exams last week. I am trying to explain why I have been missing in action. Gosh I have been trying to get a place to do my internship and it seems like no one, nobody wants me...I must say, that that feeling is really depressing. I have never checked my mail box as often as I have done for the past two weeks. It's like a job hunting...I wonder what the real job hunting is like. Every "we regret to inform you" letter I have received just makes me feel tired and sad. OK I am done ranting about internship and all. I am alive, hence there is hope.

Back to the topic... This thing called conscience. Have you ever done something and something just pricks you on the inside... Like an alarm goes on screaming 'that was wrong!' I have had that feeling, as a matter of fact everyone has had that feeling countless number of times.

One thing I have noticed is that as we become older we get too familiar with this alarm that awakens us and it loses it effect on us.

Conscience is a divinely implanted faculty in man, telling him what he ought to do right. Yet in a way conscience is enough, I think it just get less effective as we go through life.  It becomes dead and too silent that we hardly here it speak.

The things we choose as we mature affects our conscience; our beliefs, our religion and our moral identity and the society.  These things I have mentioned affects greatly the actions of a person. Countless times I have decided to do something bad but my conscience won't let me because my religion forbids it or my personal beliefs forbids it, I know it is wrong hence I could just desist from carrying out that action and feel at peace or ignore my conscience, carry out the action and suffer the guilt for a while.

Conscience is that something that speaks inside us, something that tries to stop us from doing what is wrong or might cause us harm, something that gets louder or more silent as we grow. It is this thing called conscience. It could be silent but one thing I know is that when it is alive it always tells the TRUTH.
