Let us Learn from the Ocean

The mighty ocean teaches so much. It is where many  lives have been lost. It is where many songs have been written. It is a place of battles and celebration, crisis and conquest. Its rushing tides are not afraid nor intimidated. It just flows and brings to the shore those things that it chooses and hurls them at the land as it it were evicting certain objects and snatching others.

Perhaps that is why the ocean has persevered so long. It knows how to release some things and grasp others. If you are going to survive, take a lesson from the ocean. Hurl some things away from you
and bring others to you and when all else fails.....just go on.

Have you ever felt stuck between ages and stages, faces and places? Are your feet caught in between steps? Are you hurting now over what happened in the past? Are there unresolved issues? Do you find yourself arguing with people who aren't listening anymore?

A hurt woman is especially apt to entertain these mental hobos. They ride the car with her everywhere she goes. They are flashes of memories from the past. They are  playmates of the broken. They are the sad memories of lost chances and failed relationships. These are the demons and ghost that must be evicted from the heart. If only you would dare to look life in the face and say "I will go on!"

That is what you must say if you are going to survive. You must look into the face of your challenge and declare through your parched, lonely, tear-stained lips, "I will go on." Don't forget courage is born out of crisis. You have the power to succeed. You have the tenacity and steel wheel to breakthrough. No one succeeds without overcoming opposition, so wipe your face, strengthen your back, hold up  your head and survive!

You can't CHANGE your yesterday, no matter how terrible it may have been BUT you can UPDATE your life. You live in the now, not then. I pray for the courage to endure what you cannot change. Completely remodel the things you can, and tell the rest of it to go play in traffic!.....LET US LEARN FROM THE OCEAN.
